artist statement and inspiration
"Cleopatra refers to the epic gods and rulers of Mexican culture.
Using paper collage, its fantasy theme features fairies wrapped in the winds and mermaids submerged in the water with a fixed gaze on the ancient magic of my beloved Mexico. A magic that lulls, and colours which make the heart sing.
For me, Mexico is the origin of this land; full of veins and volcanoes, its temperatures, miraculous plants and animals that the universe conserved."
